Personally, no I wouldn't buy one.
Like I said, in the UK bidets have never really been in common usage so the obstacle here would be getting people to use them.
My experiences with bidets are confined to 5 minutes of playing with them whenever I first go to my room in a European hotel, or idly playing with them when I'm using the other thing next to it (see how high you can make the water go) :)
Having said that, personal hygiene is very important to me but in the UK it just doesn't involve bidets.
Incidentally, the last hotel I stayed in that had them was in Italy (near Chamonix). It was a really old 16th century place. The best use we found for the bidets was turning them on full when someone was in the shower in the next room :)
