Not to nitpick, Garret, but maybe I was a little closer to the podium at the time. What Craig was describing was a kind of "genetically engieered YEAST", not "beast".

That caused Danny Sullivan to make a crack about what kind of infections such a search tool might infect us with.

Craig's comments seem to be taken with a measure of horror here, but it was very refreshing to see him looking further forward than the next 12 months, when eveyone else seemed to think the only changes in store fore us on the search front would be increased localization and personalization.
