no single point of failure should be depended on for success.. look at all the Enron investments.. they worked out great for a while... until the company went under.

Same with SEO - if suddenly article submissions were removed from the relevancy of the Google (or other search engine) algorithm, you'd be hosed...

Also, because there are hundereds of factors in a ranking algorithm, targeting only one will only get you so far.

Create a plan that diversifies your traffic. Have a blog. Comment on Blogs. Participate in forums. Create a goal of so many comments/postings a day. stick to plan. repeat daily.
