I don't think there is a right or wrong here - which looks best for you?
If you can't see a difference in your browser, then opt for the setting that gives you the smallest file size, to minimize download time for your visitors - i.e., increase resolution and image size just to the point where you can see an improvement and then stop, since higher resolutions or image sizes will increase file size unnecessarily.
