Im on board with Dubbya. it's important to have clean lines in your design and it does look unprofessional. In fact I would even venture to say that the hammer's are not needed to convey the theme. People get the idea with the name of the company and yes the bear does appear to be aggressive.
I would take a look at the images that dubbya used and would create a few doodles with the ideas you get from it. Traditionaly a graphic artists will start out with paper and doodel their hearts out till they find one they like and that even ends up being tweaked a hundred times.
