Default AdWords

Hi there,

While none of the sites we manage are using AdWords, we do use AdSense - (which means we show the ads that AdWords users pay for).
If AdWords is anywhere near as configurable (is THAT a word??) as AdSense, you should be able to pick and choose where your ads are shown.
Think about this though - the complaints from Adsense users seem to stem mostly from showing competitors ads on their site. As an AdWords user, I think that is exactly where you want them shown. The surfer is someone already looking for that service (in your case, hosting) - it would be great if they were looking for hosting, found your competitor's site and then noticed out of the corner of their eye - your company's blurb about why your hosting is different and/or better. Just a simple click and you have your targeted visitor.

That's my two cents. It's up to the AdSense user to block THEIR competitors' ads. The AdWords user probably wants their ads on their competition's sites.

Either way, you should be getting your site onto the search engines - without AdWords - by optimizing. I don't know of any good reason you shouldn't show up on Google - secure server or not. Then again, I wasn't able to click through to your site this morning. Let's hope Googlebot doesn't wander by during some maintenance scheduled downtime! :-)

Good luck and prosperity.
