Re: Please Review My Site - www.rtmediasolutions.com
To be honest I kinda go harsh on people that advertise themselves as a web designer. With that in mind, please understand that I do not mean to offend anybody in what I happen to say.
1. You have an canonicalization issue that needs to be addressed.
2. To me I think you have too much white space at the top of the page. Maybe reduce the amount of white space that is around your logo. This would slide the right side of the page up.
3. Your page is missing a !doctype.
4. If possible externalize your java and styles from within your code and put them in an appropriate js / css file.
5. Your title is too short and really is not serving any purpose as not many people will be searching your name. Consider making it longer and incorporate some of your key words. Just keep your title to 66 characters or less including spaces.
6. Your meta keywords and description seem to be a bit long. Maybe try and weed it down.
7. Your meta title, keywords and description are the same for every page. These items need to be unique per page.
8. Glancing through your code, although I like the tableless design, I found the repetitive spacer.gif to be a little heavy. I also did not see that much text.
9. Personally I did not like the doorway page and would recommend removing it, but that is just me.
10. Your website has 19 errors and does not validate. If this was any other site, I probably wouldn't mention it as many sites do not validate, but I feel a designers website really should.
11. Looking at the contact page, I like that you have provided phone numbers, but the lack of physical address and the fact that all the phone numbers are the same (sales, general information, etc) and also that the phone number listed reverts back to a cell phone in Toronto, ON makes your company look very small. I would recommend that you only list the number once, maybe a general information number. Having a physical address and stating your location would greatly help build trust. Along those same lines, having a cell phone number listed and not having a physical address would make me leave your site if I was looking for your service.
12. I found your top navigational links to be small and hard to read.
13. On your clients page, your clients are a direct reflection of your work. Pick what clients you list wisely as this could be a determining factor in getting or losing new clients. With this said, browsing through your clients list you have a one that comes up file not found, one that is a parked page, one that sprung my anti virus program and another one just says "don't forget me". This does not help with the trust factor.
14. Update your copyright. It currently shows that you do not keep up with your website.
15. Your support page - I like and dislike the use of forums for support. When I clicked your link to go to your forums I saw This board has no forums.
I stopped here. My overall take on the page, believe it or not, wasn't that bad. The overall layout and design is nice, but due to some of the things I mentioned above, I would not use your service due to the simple fact
1. You failed to adequately show me the quality of work you do.
2. You failed to show variety of work. Example: blogs, e-commerce sites and programming languages.
3. Your site failed to build trust. This probably being the most important.
