Question SEO Consulting on Pay-for-Performance basis

I'm an SEO consultant with a prospect who is interested in working with me on a pay-for-performance basis. We discussed a couple of different scenarios.

The company proposes that I get paid on a percentage of the revenue generated via web inquiries. This would require some mechanism for me to know if they converted an inquiry into a sales (all sales are off-line and require some consultative selling.)

I suggested that I get paid on completed inquiries via the website, which I can track directly. With this method I miss any phone inquiries generated via the web.

If anyone has any experience with situations like this or would like to share a contract they have used via PM, I would appreciate it!

Thanks.
