That's the craziest thing I've ever heard with regard to websites and seo.

Of course users will visit a website that doesn't have "SEO" what the heck is seo anyways. It's like which came first, the chicken or the egg.

A website that is designed with the best interests of the user experience in mind is pure seo as far as that goes.

Actually, seo might simply be called a process of taking a website and polishing it to a greater chance of rising high enough in the search engines on relevant searches that users can find it and click on the link in the search engine index but that might be the more "professional" description.

I think what the poster might have meant was that a website might have a hard time of ranking well in major search engines without seo and thus might not be easily found or found at all by visitors. But whether a website has "seo" or not has nothing to do with if anyone will look at it in fact there are plenty of websites that get plenty of traffic and are nigh to be found in the top 25 of search engine listings. Its called advertising.

And with that said if you are not following Google very closely these days you just might miss the boat when it comes to seo of the future because there is a shaking of the tree going on in that regard and the days of seo as we knew it are quickly passing us. Only the sites that truly understand how to best implement the most comprehensive user experience that speaks the language google is expecting to hear will enjoy the top of the dogpile because traditional "seo" as we knew and were taught is not going to work as easily today as it did yesterday.
