Default Re: Black-Hat SEO explained

I guess this explains why I got what I thought was a pretty rude email from a hairstyles forum I joined yesterday to post a question about my hair on. I was a bit taken a back as it was a genuine question, but when I went thorugh the registration process there was an option to enter your website url, so I put hairstylezone in the website field, there were no links in the post, just in the profile where there was the option to put, so I did, and a bit later received the following email...

Thanks for your interest in somecheekyrudewebsite.com We have posted your question - however we have removed your links back to your own ‘2009 hairstyles’ website.

Everyday we have posts from people who are trying to improve their google rankings by getting linked to from our forums.

As a commercial business who has worked hard to build our own site’s reputation/PR this is unacceptable.

Our forum is for consumers with genuine hair questions, who we try to help. If you want to participate on this level, we welcome you… if however you’re just looking for a PR boost to your own website we’ll have to remove you.
