Default Re: SEO Top 10 Check List

Great question. The toughest part is prioritizing and trying to get it all done. Try to divide your tasks into categories; social, technical, campaigns, etc. And then work on one category at a time.

Right now I'm a one man army. My primary tasks include the social side of our site. Those tasks include;

1. Forum moderator
2. Social network interaction on web sites of related subjects
3. Blogger
4. Web site content management and updates.

But then there's the nuts and bolts;

1. Google base uploads and item management
2. Key word analysis and updates
3. Analytics management and numbers crunching
4. AdWord Campaigns

(that's only 8 but that's my current task list)

Two years ago we had 6 people working together as an SEO team. As team manager I would assign tasks to others and manage their progress. I had my tech support develop a tool for me call The SEO Task Manager. The basic principal was that I could assign tasks via an on-line page. My employees could log in from home/anywhere and see their incomplete tasks or any new tasks that they had been assigned. The benefit of this was that my employees were accountable and had to complete task by the assigned date.

Here's some screen shots of how the SEO Task Manager works;

Admin screen - in this screen, I could create new tasks (what we call to-do's) and assign/manage to-do's for each employee.
Task manager panel - manage incomplete tasks, on-going tasks (unfinished) and completed tasks.
Viewing a to-do - This is a notes section where an employee can document time spent on a task, steps that were completed, etc.

Sorry if this sounds a bit like a business plug (but I reckon it is). The SEO Task Manager was a custom built program by Steve Embrey (steve@sitesee.net) that was worth every penny. SEO team management can be like herding cats and The SEO Task Manager made that so much easier.
