These scripts generally stream the video from YouTube et al's servers so bandwidth is not generally an issue. Same method as embedded the url in a webpage or forum post.

There are a lot of these scripts out there plus sites built using them for sale at places like sitepoint market place.

The video scripts work well as in they do what they say they do in my experience, which does not include the OP's script.
