Wow! The ability to see 20 years into the future. I am impressed.

Who cares about the next 20 years. I think that most of us care about the next few years. And, for the next few years, .com rules for commercial entities.

I encourage all my non-profit clients to get a .org as that connotes the "not for profit" aspect that they want to convey.
However, for profit-making businesses, .com is the only way to go, in my opinion. It has nothing to do with search engines and everything to do with human perception.
