Default Re: Sara Pailin's eye blinking and foreign policy.

In terms of overall presentation, Obama was right on target. He's every bit as good as Kennedy, Reagan and Clinton. From what I saw last night, if you can believe it, I would say that McCain is is even worse than Bush.

But all of that aside, on the question of fiscal responsibility which was presented last night, which was presented along the lines of: 'Senators, a bipartisan budget agency has reviewed both of your plans and has indicated that both plans would make the deficit worse, what specific actions would you take to make cuts in the budget {in order to balance it}'

Obama began to speak generally, until pressured to mention something specific when he said he would cut a $15 billion insurance subsidy to companies sponsoring Medicare supplemental plans.

McCain said that he would pull out the 'hatchet' and have an across the board spending freeze and then go through the budget line item by line item, with a 'scapel' (pushing for a line item veto of course), but again when pressured to mention something specific he said he would cut ethanol subsidies and also noted that he would eliminate tariffs on Brazilian sugar ethanol!

Poor 'Joe the Plumber' - can we leave them out of this.

One of the better moments for Obama came when McCain was attacking his affiliation with Ayers. McCain's attack was jumbled, appeared desperate and made little sense. Obama's response was eloquent, substantive and, unlike his opponents ramble, made sense.

This one is essentially over, it should be Obama by a landslide. If you're voting for Obama, act like it is NOT going to be a landslide because that is how you wake up to a 'Dewey defeats Truman' headline!
