Of all the choices, democracy at least theoretically represents the will of the people. While I wholeheartedily support democracy, in practice it is not utopian. Personally I call it 'The Santa Claus' effect. At least in the US, and this race for the Presidency is NO exception, each candidate promises things that frankly they have no business promising.

Is there anything these turkeys won't say to get elected?

How often do we hear the question, "how exactly are you going to fund that initiative?"
