For the most part, I tend to agree with suesheboy.

Content added to blogs has the opportunity to rank well quickly based upon a variety of factors. As you continue to add content, it pushes what was already there further into to the blog so again, depending upon upon a variety of factors how long it remains where it started can change rather quickly.

Content added to a website tends to remain static, unless you keep moving it around. Can take a little longer to rank well but can be more stable when it comes to rankings in the long run.

So it's wise to consider what kind of "egg" it is to help determine the best "basket" to use.
