Although it may fly in the face of perceived wisdom, over the last few months we have found that the best way forward is to have a high quality home page based on the new design, whilst the rest of the site is being finalised. You make sure, of course, that it has contact details so folks can enquire. In this way you are much more likely to give potential customers a good feeling about the business. The key is that it is not really a holding page, but a home page with look and feel of what is to come.

In addition, it usually means that Mr Google has indexed the site and when new pages arrive it is so much easier to have them working for you in short order.
