Yes, I recently went through the same thing and your choices are as stated. Make a static table range in the center of the screen at @900 pixels wide, which looks just odd in the wider configurations but will keep your page format. Or use that liquid table that will adjust to the size of the screen and stack your content. I tend to us the former rather than the latter because I like using different format techniques. The 900 will work for all but the smallest configurations. People who use 480 x 600 are used to scrolling around their pages
