Well, step one is not getting your wife so angry in the future. (and trying to bribe her for the password...)

Next, who is the manufacturer of the motherboard? Or, if this is a computer made by a major manufacturer, what is the make/model number of the motherboard?

There are a few possibilites. Some motherboards have override passwords that might work and allow access to change or disable the password. If that is not the case, a hardware override might be necessary, which would involve resetting the BIOS, if that is possible on your motherboard.
