The only way to really know is to test it. Opinions hardly matter now. Even
SEO facts have to be retested every 6 months. That's why I say, everything other than Adwords is Black Hat. Again, my opinion.
Whatever you do, do it in moderation ( if it's very Black Hat) and make sure it provides a return on your investment.
