Yes, that is one goal I penalise myself with. I think the penalty is far less severe If you have a page that users come back to to find another advert.

I think Finding quality adverts, might be part and parcel of 'good content.' Possibly, Displaying adverts that everyone else displays is a form of self penalisation.

Google does not discriminate against us as much as we do to ourselves. I have seen sites where the owner has blamed Google for not delivering traffic. . In truth google could deliver millions and the site would have simply turned the traffic away at the door.

Google does its own thing. . I think the things we do that discriminate against ourselves is a far far more important thing to look at.
