Re: Making money from my website
hi there,
when you say the website is not making you any money, what exactly do you mean? You must be making some as there is AdSense all over it and you get 3000 visitors a day.
What is your target income? Do you do this full time or would you like to?
From my experience money can be made through AdSense and I think you should start by playing around with the ads you have.
The formats you are using now do not stand out enough.
Try some of the following:
1) Add a horizontal AdSense text link unit - they usually make some money.
2) Change colours - leave the border white (the same as the page colour) but make the text or links a differen colour - bright red for example. Play around and see what works for you.
3) Have different types of AdSense ads on different pages. Rectangles are also high earners.
4) Get much more targeted affiliate ads (EasyJet?). I have never had great success with image affiliate ads. Try using text ads instead. They blend with the page easier. A good affiliate network is Commission Junction.
You should also target specialist shops/companies to see if they would like to advertis on the site.
There is a hell of a lot of scope for you to be making money!
