Another vote here for adding a home page.
It would be a definite plus for
SEO to feature threads you'd want to rank better. Write a catchy line about featured threads that tells visitors why they should participate in it.
Not much to review about the design, it's an installed forum with a theme. Nice 3d effect on the logo.
Content - good selection of categories, and grouping. Good stuff.
