It seems that ctabuk just does not understand the whole concept of keeping a thread on topic. He posted this in one thread and then removed it because crankydave asked him to.
Thanks Dave.
But then he sent me this email:

I have deleted this But only as a favour to crankydave
I want your explanation though - here is the deleted post
Yesterday Janeth accused me of 'going off topic', and basically telling me how to moderate - I had after all mentioned multiple postings can be viewed as link dropping.

First off we need to understand that unless there is a link in a post it is not link dropping.

So you went in search of a fight. Good for you and way to make webproworld a better place.
I am going to see if I can drive a little traffic from webproworld and webworkshop to the site. This is really the first chance I've had to work with getting traffic to the site so my plan is to work with the site all day tomorrow.

I’ve often used social media sites to drive traffic to my websites. At one time I use to get over 2,000 unique visitors per day just from forums. But I do it by making good post and using my signature tags to do it. Not from linking back to my own site. It’s the reason most forums let you post signature tags. It is a kind of pay back for being a part of their community. WPW and other forums should be proud of the fact that their forums can deliver so great numbers.

Her description of this method is
'If I find a way to make my sites rank and keep them relevant to the visitor, I'll do it. Some people would call the methods I am about to use blackhat but I've seen more sites get banned that claim they've done nothing wrong than sites doing what I'm about to talk about. As a matter of fact I have yet to see one site get banned using the techniques I am about to show you.
Everything I talk about here I would consider white hat but search engine optimizers might call them blackhat.'

So which are they Janeth? White Hat by link dropping in WPW or Blackhat -I am certain the whole of WPW will be interested in your reply.

Link dropping would be dropping links in the post back to one of my sites. Can you show me the links that I am dropping?
And why would a forum moderator continue to take a topic off topic and why would he set out to try and make personal attacks? Even going so far as to go in search of a reason to make an attack.
It seems to me that if WPW wants to keep their forums on topic the first step would be in getting rid of mods. Who lack the common sense not to take threads, they are not even participating in, off topic.
And if making good post with the hope of driving some relevant traffic back to our sites is wrong then I am sure I am not the only one in the wrong.
