Their rankings show a drop and several users/clients report low rank, whereas it is just a reverse mode of Google.

This thing was prevalent way back in 2005-2006 which used to last 3-4 days, but these days Google drags old results for as long as 5-10 days.

I would like to know if you have observed this strange ranking results from Google.
There is a difference between apples and oranges.

IMO, SERP position is definitely a better term than ranking that I relate to page rank.

Two good threads on pagerank (IBL's and OBL's).

Is PageRank the Primary Google Search Ranking Factor?

Can inbound links really hurt you?
