The original idea was to publish inside info on sports, particularly football (soccer to you Yanks). A friend of mine sold football (soccer) tickets on the web. He had inside info on some events and thought he would have enough time to publish this info one the web, for two reasons.
1) Because the info would be useful to anyone who wanted to bet on football results/events and at some point he would begin charging for membership
2) Because that site could link to his ticket sales site.
But it all unravelled because he didn't have enough time to update the site in time (sometimes he had inside info a few hours or even days in advance of the mainstream press but thats not a long time when you're busy) and because selling soccer tickets in the UK is now virtually impossible.
The sites are undeveloped and have not changed since 2003/2004 but the names are good names and suitable to cover all sports.
