My father had a problem with his former HP laptop computer in which the @ symbol didn't work.

Numerous calls to tech support, to no avail.

The shift keys worked fine. The 2 key worked. And all the other symbols above the other numbers worked, but for some reason, only the @ key would not work. So much for typing in email addresses.

After complaining to tech support that they couldn't help him with his laptop which was still under warranty, he finally got in touch with a supervisor. The solution? They had him send it back and they replaced it with a newer model that now had Windows Vista.

So now his troubles are figuring out how to work Vista.
