Default How best to pointing another domain to established domain

I have a domain that I can say thank God, has good search engine positioning. I am wanting to point another domain to it through my registar for a couple of months till i build a website for it. This second domain has type in traffic and in bound links to its home page and likely in bound links to other pages on the second domain.

I will be building a website to the second domain, shortly. Until then, I wanted to forward all the traffic from the second domain to my main website. I will not know any of the old page names of the second domain, so how best to handle this without doing anything wrong?

I was thinking of forwarding the main page through my registar and then maybe posting a custom 404 error with some Google Analytics tracking code on it, to catch everything else.....

Any ideas????

Thanks..............
