When an initial summary for a domain is done (the very first page when you do a lookup), globally indexed information is used. If your site has not been recently spidered, the initial title tag is from the global index (which may not be completely up to date).
Once you perform any other lookup for the site, the site is re-spidered and all information is updated.
I assume when you first checked the tools, you did a quick summary. Following a lookup with one of the tools, the information for your site was updated - hence your site title is now up to date.
