"Treacherous secrecy"? That's bizarre. The more open they are with their algorithms, the more ingenious the scammers and black-hat
SEO types will get with their manipulation. It is vital to their business model that people not be able to game the system too easily. It sounds like some of Arius' attempts to game the system have bitten him on the b***, and he wants to complain about it, rather than improve his site. He paid nothing to Google; they owe him the same.
