  1. Bottom up:

    First, take a look at the code of the sites in FireBug. Then, if you see calls to php or asp files with names like "tagcloud", Google: tagcloud.php (asp).
  2. Top down: Facebox 1.1 or

    Search for "Social Network software" or variations thereoff.
