Default Re: 3 Logo Concepts

I concur, the name is a little confusing in that "statement" may refer to a bank statement, credit card statement, or something said. Without more information, it doesn't really spell out what your site is about.

It's like going to monster.com or amazon.com under the assumption that the site content revolves around monsters or the South American river. Without a significant marketing initiative, it's going to be difficult to make "st.ate.men.t" a household word.

The perfect logo needs no explanation and should not be hard to make memorable, regardless of the character used. "Get-The-Job", "Home Builders Guide", "Books-R-us" or even "Office Depot" might be good examples.

I do like the 2nd character holding the book though. To me, it best suggests reading a book. The large eyes suggest someone reading a very interesting book. For a book related project, putting colours aside, both are quite good conceptually.

The third demonstrates a more polished business theme, perfect for a site where banking information, tax or accounting information might be available. In terms of lighthearted fun or comical appeal, it's not cutting the mustard.

It needs a little tweaking but I think Simon, Paula and Randy would all give #2 a yellow ticket to Hollywood.
