Default Any suggestions on creating a logo?

If this is not the correct forum to post this in I apologize.

I'm trying to come up with a logo for the name: myvirtualnet

It's a small hosting site. I really only maintain the site for customers I've had for years. I don't advertise so it's not worth it to pay for a logo at this time. But just to do something new I wanted to try and come up with something on my own.

I'm just getting familiar with Photoshop. I've barely scratched the surface on what PS can do so I'm still a bit lost, but managed to come up with some basic banners for a website that I thought wasn't too bad for a first attempt at ever using PS:

Thunder On The Rock Motorcycle Rally

So just wanting to play around with doing something for myvirtualnet just for my own education.

I've thought of using MVN overlayed on top of the name, or putting MVN in a type of circle with a network cable in the center but it just comes out silly looking and plain.

So I was just wondering if anyone had some ideas or pointers to head me in a different direction.

Thanks.
