I have also been working with AdSense to correct the same issue. They seem to grab all kinds of keywords from the site and in many cases the ads do not reflect the site content at all. I spent some time blocking some obvious ads not related to my sites, but it got to be more trouble than it was worth - they just came up with more inappropriate ads. This is one of the reasons my AdSense revenue is so low.

So if you know how to target specific sites, that would be great, but I haven't found out how to do that within the Google system so far.
