Default Re: Google Referrals. Does it work? Is it worth trying?

Martin-

I would actually try this for some of your ads. There are a few ways to make it successful. First off, look at the keywords your web traffic is using to find you, and try to build ad groups that support that. Maybe you can look at the sites that you may be adding to your network, and see what their "Conversion" is set to. If it seems easy, like a sign up, then I would suggest checking that one, as opposed to a site with lots of products and the "conversion" is defined as a sale. Make sure the sites you choose are really well built, good content, well optimized, meaning if you search for them, they might rank. These are factors I would consider. Granted AdSense is good, but a lot of times it pays 3 cents per click, and if your traffic hardly ever clicks out, or doesn't find the ads relevant, than you are wasting time. With Google's BETA referral Ads you have the opportunity to make maybe a dollar per click, if the traffic clicking out signs up.

Also, they said in the sign up page that you can customize the ads to the look and feel of your site, which to me, would make it compelling. In this case, you are in total control of the ads that are running on your site. I say, give it a try, and make your own experience, don't trust the skeptics above, just because they "heard from so and so." I would have never gone to the tropical paradise of Jamaica if I listened to what everyone had to say about its dangers.

Trust yourself, give it a try- there's no obligation and in reality it may be the better fit for your pocket to get phatter!

Good luck,

Erika
