Re: My social bookmarking web2.0 experiment
Whilst you were out trying to make the search engine think that somehow your site was newly discovered web design firm offering something innovative your probably seeing the bump before the dump.
Many sites experience a temporary rise due to new links which Google has seen acquired but has not had the chance to score the value of. You may find you fall back in the next few weeks so do not be surprised or worried if it does happen as you'll know why.
Yes you should fill the profiles with links to your sites with valuable information... otherwise the score will be given that reflects someone who tosses up a bunch of empty not visited profiles....IE you get out of anything, that which you put into it.
But more importantly than trying to play with social networking ...I wonder if you've been been smart enough to send in for a Google Local Business listing so you could be at the top of the local search results like your nearby competitors are now??
Maybe the site conversion is not the issue... and your just missing the companies in your area who would be more inclined to use your services.
The English are tremendously loyal and will typically buy local products and services before using international offers.
Just my 1.5 cents
