Yahoo's not the only ASP who has this problem. I've had clients experience the same with MSN, both paid for MSN & free Hotmail accounts, as well as paid for AOL accounts.
Whether or not you can resolve the issue is going to depend solely on your being sufficiently persistent so as to eventually deal with someone who both knows how to help & gives a damn.
