Does 1/10? mean #1 on the 10th page of SERPs?

You are in an *extremely* competitive niche and your site is less than a year old - you might have to be a little patient.

Don't let the competition worry you, though, someone has to be in the top ten, why not you?

I suspect you haven't really done everything you "have been told to do" or you haven't been told much ... as there is much that could still be done to your site to optimize it ...

For example, if I can presume from your title tag that 'low rate credit card processing' is your target KW phrase, then you would want to use that keyword phrase and variants:
  • in h1 tags toward the top of the page
  • in the first paragraph
  • in bold somewhere on the page
  • in links to the home page from other pages
  • in an absolute link from the home page to the home page
  • in links from the home page to an authority site
  • in the file name of your logo graphic (instead of CCNJ-LogoTM.gif it could be 'credit-card-processing-logo.gif, for example)
  • in the alt tag of the same graphic
  • in page file names
You don't want to overoptimize, but with good SEO copywriting on that page, the steady addition of original content and quality (relevant) inbound links using the same or similar text you should be able to see steady improvement.

And a blog! Do you have a blog? Are you adding original content daily either through a blog or otherwise?

You are #3 on MSN and Yahoo for your target term, as well, so you aren't doing too badly, are you? And if you are doing well on a term for those, and you get enough of the right sort of links for Google, I would be surprized if Google doesn't rank your site higher.

Cheers, MJ
