Default Re: MyLiveSearch a threat to Google ?

Some thoughts in the late Norwegian summer night. May be I was too fast to devalue the project.

"This technology has been in development for the past 8 years with the team currently based in Melbourne, Australia. A dedicated team of innovative developers delivering the latest cutting edge technology in 'real-time' search within a new paradigm on how we search the www today.

A totally new and innovative approach to searching the web, which has not been done before, until now!"

Let us assume
  • They have top programmers.
  • Excellent and innovative search algorithms and spam filters.
  • Index / archieve sites "instantly" (keep the index for minutes, hours or few days) in a proprietary or unique, secret and non predictable way. This index may be used to get a larger archieve that can be used to improve future search options.
  • Some of the other SE's SERP's are biased because SEO experts know how to manipulate the results.
  • They have enough beta testers (future members that may get x % of potential profit) spread all over the world. They have memberes covering the global IP range with overlap to fight spam.
  • The beta testers can also offer data, like their favourites, favourite pages in various categories etc.
  • A due dilligence is done on the beta testers, to see if they qualify to participate in the project.
  • These members are given software that they install on their computers. They sign a contract not to give away this software, and even if it is given away, the company has systems to protect their central algorithms.
  • The members hire (give away) y % of idle resources on their home or company computers.
Then this

"My Live Search is the first, true ‘real-time’ search engine to appear on the www. It is the only engine that searches the www live to the second. Results are not retrieved from an indexed database as is with all other search engines, which are days, weeks or months old".

may be a more or less true statement that can have the potential to revolutionize a certain share of the search landscape.

My private conclusion: A final test of the new engine will be their ability to fight spam and give SERP's of high quality without repetitive (overlapping hists) and broken links.

P.S. I have signed up as a beta tester, but have got no information so far.

In alphabetical order: Ask, Google, MSN and Yahoo did i frighten you? I think no, until the opposite is proved.
