Really guys the easy way to look at rep points is as a social marketing plugin
For example...
If you read a really good post today and think to yourself "wow that was great, glad he/she posted that" just go to the top right hand corner of the post and click the
button and give them a positive Rep and you can even leave them a short message to say thanks!
Furthermore... if you consider WPW your home... and find spam or shameless self promotion or just don't like the subject matter... you can also give them negative rep...
it's basically a
Thumbs up / Thumbs down system... which comes in handy for newbies to say... oh this person spews junk according to the red pips... or "oh this person gives good info"
The plain and simple explanation of it all is it's a pat on the back for good posts... and a thumbs down for bad posts... and EVERYONE can participate... not just mod's / admins / mvp's! It's giving the power to the people
