The New Reputation System:

Here's the skinny on how the new reputation system has been implemented. I have taken into account a great number of factors in terms of weighting reputation scoring ability and advancement etc. Some of these values may need to be tweaked as we move along, but I like what we have to start with.

So here's how it works:

Default Reputation
Rep Score all new users receive upon registration = 1

Number of Reputation Ratings to Display
Number of ratings to display in the user's control panel = 5

Register Date Factor
For every 365 days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. = 1 influence point per 365 days of membership

Post Count Factor
For every 1000 posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power. = 1 influence point per 1000 posts

Reputation Point Factor
For every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.= 1 influence point per 100

Minimum Post Count
A user must have a minimum of 50 posts before his reputation hits count on others. = 50 posts minimum

Daily Reputation Clicks Limit
How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period. = 10 per day

Reputation User Spread
How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again. = 20

Now the scale:

User RepRank -3 = -1000
User RepRank -2 = -100
User RepRank -1 = -50
User RepRank 0 = 0
User RepRank 1 = 10
User RepRank 2 = 50
User RepRank 3 = 150
User RepRank 4 = 250
User RepRank 5 = 500
User RepRank 6 = 650
User RepRank 7 = 950
User RepRank 8 = 1200
User RepRank 9 = 1300
User RepRank 10 = 2000
User RepRank 11 = 5000
