Yes Incredible, you are right that its more important the pages are out of the SI, some deserve to be there, others dont and will be out very shortly (I know why they are there and am addressing that).
My point was that it generaly seems to be accepted on this forum that if its grey barred its in the SI and that if its in the SI it has no rank. I just wanted to challenge the convention.
With regard to the last point, I dont think its anything to do with backlinks as my higher ranking pages with the majority of backlinks dont even show, even though they appear in searches when uk only is selected. I think the answer is here from an earlier post by "cgmcgiffen"
"I think this is about the site: command only returning supplemental results in Google when "pages from the UK" is selected. I don't think its anything to worry about, it is happening with all the websites I have tried, including Google! Smaller sites I have checked return primary and supplemental when I do the web search, then return only the supplementals when I do a UK search. I doubt its effecting search, but hopefully something that will be fixed soon...
