I'm not sure about the AMD processors, but 55 degrees C seems to be borderline for my dual core Intel processor. You may want to look into a better fan than the included fan for your processor. I recently got a massive heatsink and fan assembly and it helped quite a bit. F.E.A.R. has, I believe, a pretty high framerate and can tax even high end graphics cards. You may want to check the temperature near the graphics card and make sure you have adequate airflow. Some cases have a fan on the side by the card, but most do not. Because the heat generated (in most case setups) is directed downward, it gets trapped between the bottom of the case or between cards and keeps heating up that area. There are PCI fans that can be installed in the slot below the graphics card to pull that heated air out the back of the case. This may help if the card is overheating. Also check the temperature around your memory. Especially DDR2 memory can get pretty hot, and most motherboards put this near the system bus and a heatsink, so you may need to position a fan to clear this out as well.
