My computer is a

Stock AMD Athlon64 CPU Fan (high quality)

When I play F.E.A.R. I can only get about an hour and a half worth of play till I start getting a black background and my character starts to move real jerky, when I look at my temps I see its up to 52 Celsius.
I know that there is a issue some have with the game dealing with the codecs but thats supposedly only happens within the first 5-10 minutes of play.
I also am waiting till some more directX 10 cards come out before I upgrade my video card so if thats the problem I'll have to wait hopefully for another month or so before I can fix it.
