Default How do I get tax credit for volunteering my design services?

I have been working on a logo design for my church, and once that is finished I am going to redesign their web site. My church is a not-for-profit organization, and I am volunteering my services. It seems to me that I should get a tax credit for doing this.

The Pastor asked his Accountant about it, and the Accountant said I should bill them as a normal client then just donate the money back to the Church. That doesn't seem right to me, because if I do that, won't I have to pay taxes on that income?

Surely there is a way to just record my services as a donation from the beginning so I don't have to pay taxes on them.

If anyone has experience with this please help.
