You should not have to do this. In fact I see plenty of websites that don't have to do this and get some great results. Of course most all of these websites have incredibly well written content for each country targeted.

I think the
SEO specialist would need to know about your long term goals to know if building separate domains or one .com is the best solution. In fact I would not rely on one thread in a forum to make this type of decision.

Just as long as building a brand new page. Mmake sure you have some solid internal linking to this new sub-directory page.
