I do not know what company you are referring to. You did not mention it. I don't know anyone by the name of Dale Woodland either.
If anyone gets mail that has an offer that sounds too good to be true. Guess what? It is a ripoff right from word one.
Not knowing the particulars of the mail you mentioned, it probably contained a link to some fly-by-night site that just takes your credit card information and runs. If you can get the link from the mail and post it here, I could (or someone else) would probably be able to tell you more about this Mr. Woodland. Also the link of the protected page. Any info you can provide would help.
Right now, I would be more worried about the credit card number that he just gave out. My advice is to have him go to the bank and run a check on it ASAP. Also, I advise that you tell your friend to cancel the transaction for this purchase -- if possible.
