Yes. . I know the feeling. But WPW is not a bureaucracy, it is a commercial operation, most of the moderators (one of, who probably did not like your url) are volunteers, that do it for fun or as a promotional tool.

"But I don't think it is a curse or in bad taste, the yanks are just soooo conservative and have no taste or a sense of humor."

Well, I would have said the 'Yanks' (not a universally prefered term) have a different sense of humour . . Americans I find need to be talked to as individuals. talking to a group is problematic, because it has the opposite effect of talking to a Group of Australians. if you addressed 100 Americans there will be there will be many diverse groups - Sometimes I think the only common value Americans have is protecting each others values. If you offend just a few you are up the creek.
In Australia If you are unable to offend at least 20% then what you said was pointless because everyone already knows it.
I always try make a point of directing my conversation to a particular person (as I am doing now) This I find solves many little problems with the differences between us and them.

Example- USA -If one moderator thinks your site is in bad taste, the others will probably accept it. (yea, bad taste)
Australia - If one moderator thinks your site is in bad taste - someone will shout "Wanker" at the modrator and the others will accept It. We prefer to follow the little man shouting because we identify better with him. (and Wanker is a good chant)

That might not be a totally well thought ot analogie, but as I write this post it seems to work. (seemed like a good one at the time, sort of)

"The site is designed to give people a laugh, not to extract the morals brigade opinion."

Yes. . I can see that, you might need to look at what Americans laugh at. . There are lots of them and getting U.S. traffic is a dream, they click on adverts, they post messages, webmasters heaven.
Individually they are not conservative. . I would suggest a third of Californians are stark staring mad. . (that is by Queensland standards)

Xen2, We need to educate these Americans, I just cannot do it on my own. . The problem is some of them have minds of their own, and just will not learn.

O.K. lets see if they come get me. ( Actually I love em as 'individuals')

This is the bit where I say to a new 'mate'. 'pull your head in' Someone will bite it off.

Kajabbi, I am in the process of moving into the Hotel at Kajabbi, very small place north West of Cloncurry. Basically an outback pub, cattle country and mining. But has a good satellite connection, and no bitumen. Nice country, on the Leichhardt river.
