If this turns out to be a valuable thread, I'll rename it and make it a sticky.

Different social sites lean better one way or the other from a marketing perspective. ie. MySpace is a great place for young entrepreneurs to promote their wares as well as musicians to make a mark.

In fact I accidently fell into the pie there with a rural water utility Site (www.dpwater.com) because of the graphic used on the home page, yielding hundreds of visitors. It has not resulted in links and in this case won't result in additional business for a geographically confined client, but the visits have been phenominal.

Targeted application as opposed to incidental "pie" could be very effective.

When including notes about the different social networks here, please go a little further and indicate what base interests and age groups might be involved, as well as any notes on application and we may be able to assemble this into a useful spreadsheet.

If we start to go there, we'll "sticky it" and march on.

Thanks for your input so far.

Ken
