The slowness may not be you. They have had lots of problems since the upgrade and many have been reporting slow links and access problems.
Lots of merchants offer free feeds outside of CJ. All of our merchants do. Check my directory page of 50+ top programs and you will find LOTS that are on CJ and many, many free feeds.
